Moving Forward

Sometimes to move forward, we first have to look backwards.

To progress, we need to review any mistakes or mis-steps, accept that we made them, find out why we made them and then correct them from that point on.

By changing, we begin to transform our future.

Take A Moment

We all are busy,

We all have things to do, places to go and people to see.  And that doesn’t include those of you who are parents which then multiplies the above activities even more.

It is important to take a moment to —

Be in the here and now

Look around and see nature’s beauty

Savor that meal that you cooked

    Enjoy silence

    And just breathe.

A Little Help From Our Friends

Help is always available, but we have to be willing to ask for it – from the Universe and from each other.

We can all become the best version of ourselves with a little help from our friends.

Love Yourself

Do you love yourself unconditionally?

Let’s use the mantra today to help us all love ourselves —

I am good enough.

I do enough.

I have enough.

I work enough.

I love enough.

I am beautiful enough.

I am smart enough.

I AM ENOUGH.

Love and accept yourself in all your amazing glory.

Giving

To help ourselves make spiritual progress we need to give and help others.  The reward for us will be tenfold.

But fruitful giving must not be based on reciprocity but instead on the benefit the universe will send.

We must also remember to give to ourselves.  There is a difference between giving and sacrificing.  Giving is satisfying and fulfilling but sacrificing is depleting and harmful.

So when giving to others, don’t forget to give to yourself!

Gratefulness

I was reminded yesterday about gratefulness.

I was watching the fireworks from my balcony and enjoying the show.  One firework was so large and so beautiful, it brought tears to my eyes.

What beautiful surroundings!  What a lovely view!

My heart exploded with gratefulness for a place to live (with a beautiful view!), food in my fridge, good health, loving family and friends (and supportive too!), new and exciting experiences and the courage to live with a positive outlook.

And on this morning’s drive, I saw a rainbow.

I’m grateful for it all.

Happy 4th of July – Independence Day

I heard this quote last night —

“The smallest action is better than the greatest intention.”

And today thinking about tomorrow’s holiday, it really made me grateful.  Grateful that courageous men and women came to this continent seeking a new life.  And upon drafting the Declaration of Independence, began our country.

I’m thinking that at the time, they knew signing it would be memorable and important but maybe not as important as it is today.

Their brave, small action to declare independence made one of the greatest countries on this planet.

Happy 4th of July!  Be safe!

Emotional Baggage

Stop living in the past, stop living your past.

Be here and now, don’t drag emotions from past experiences into your present to muddle and ruin it.

One of my favorite funny sayings is, “Emotional baggage limited to two checked pieces and one carry-on.”  (even though it’s funny, I believe we shouldn’t have any emotional baggage.)

I practice Ho’oponopono which allows me to eliminate the emotions but keep the memory….to be calm and objective without the emotion making my mind spin.

What do you do to clean and clear old emotional baggage?
