Positive thoughts to live by

Forgiveness

To not forgive is to drink a little poison each day and expect the other person to die.

You Can Choose To…

No matter how complex our world becomes, we can choose to value people more than stuff.

We can choose to focus more on the quality of our interactions than the quantity of our achievements.

We can choose to live a simpler life.

We can choose happiness.

Forgive

Instead of seeing the world through bitter eyes, choose to forgive and free yourself.

Keys to Happiness

Stuff happens.  Let it happen but don’t let it arbitrate how you day is going to be.

Share another’s joy.  If you are unhappy, don’t share it with someone else.  Instead let their joy rub off on you.

Don’t get caught up with the negatives of the world.  If caught in a traffic jam, put on your favorite music and have a “you” moment instead of cursing at others.

Look for positive side to situations.  When it’s raining in the morning, thank the universe for the free car wash!

Change

When a change seems daunting, remember it is when we push and make the effort that we grow.  The universe will take care of the rest.

Giving

The Dalai Lama says if you find it hard to give to others, start by giving your right hand some money and then passing it back to the left.

Go Against the Grain

We learn to focus on the next goal rather than our present experience and chase the ever elusive future our entire lives.  We are not rewarded for enjoying the journey itself but for the successful completion of a journey.  Society rewards results, not processes; arrivals, not journeys.

Go against the grain!  We are all spiritual beings that know the journey is where the experience and joy are and that we will be rewarded by relishing in the present.

You

The bravest thing a person can do is to learn who they are, be who they are, and love who they are for everything they are.

Loving who you are unconditionally is not easy, but it is the most important thing you can do in life.

Fear of Falling

Don’t let the fear of falling keep you from the pursuit of living life in and on purpose.  Take the risk.  You will never know unless you try.  Know that you possess the confidence to take the next step, whether you fall or not.

And if you fall, get back up.  Don’t stay down there for long.  Although you may feel comfortable, know that is not your ultimate destination.  You were meant to not only get up and walk, but to run.  Keep moving.

Get up after each fall and take another step!  Don’t wait until tomorrow, start now!

One Step

Remember…it all starts with that first step.  You can’t get ahead if you don’t get started.

Know that even one step is bringing you closer to that place you desire to be.
