Thoughts

“You are very powerful, provided you know how powerful you are.” – Yogi Bhajan

I agree!  If we don’t believe we are strong, beautiful, confident, funny, etc., we won’t be!

You are what you think!

Just…

On my trip to the Bahamas a couple of weeks ago, I was pleasantly surprised to see this sign posted in several places on the island.  It’s a nice alternative to the normal Nike logo/saying.

Let’s all just….say please and say thanks!

Everything

We are meant to have everything!

When we desire greater things and continually strive in our spiritual work, we can have it all.

We deserve it!  We just have to believe it!

Grateful (Again)

I know I’ve written about being grateful before, but this just goes to show you how often I am reminded to be grateful.

This weekend in South Florida we had to “hunker down” in our residences (or a safe place) and endure Tropical Storm Isaac.

Thankfully it was not as bad as it could have been.  There could have been varying degrees of destruction and even deaths.  But we only experienced lots of rain and some heavy wind gusts at times.

Late in the afternoon my condo’s fire alarm went off.  Hoping it was a false alarm, I went out on the catwalk to see if there was any smoke or anyone screaming about fire.

As it was a false alarm, I hung out on the catwalk with my neighbors chatting.  I was surprised at the somewhat lack of gratefulness.

“I just hope we don’t lose power” and “Yeah, praying the cable to stay on too” were a couple of the comments.  I replied with, ” I have candles, lanterns and a bunch of books I haven’t read yet”.

I think they looked at me like I had three heads.  I guess it’s because I was just grateful to have a strong structure to seek shelter in, a weak storm that did not cause destruction and that people were safe and sound.

As it turned out, we didn’t lose power or cable, but I still read my book with a candle burning….grateful, again.

Connection

I know people talk about the “mind/body connection” but it is true.

Our physical bodies, our muscles, our tissues, even our cells, have a connection to our emotions.  Our experiences, feelings and conscience — all affect how we feel physically.

I always feel open, light and free after having a massage or body work done.

Do you?

Perfection

Our true perfection is not our physical body.

It is being your authentic self, listening to your intuition and staying positive.

It is seeing your future potential and striving for that goal, but also enjoying the journey along the way.

It is being the grateful, loving, kind person the universe intended you to be.

That’s our true perfection.

Changin’

I was thinking last night about how different my life is from over a year ago to just a few months ago.  It reminded me of Bob Dylan’s song, “The Times They Are A Changin”.

That’s how life is…it’s always changing.  From the people we know to what we do in our free time, life is an ever evolving adventure…a journey with twists and turns.  Being adaptable to the shifts is what’s important.  Never lose your sense of humor and always try to find the lesson behind each obstacle.

Just Do It

“He who deliberates fully before taking a step will spend his entire life on one leg.” — Chinese Proverb

This quote is the epitome of releasing fear…taking that leap and allowing ourselves to fly.

As a dear friend has said to me many times, “Fear can kiss my a** !!!”.

Just do it!

Letting Go

I’ve started to feel this peace inside lately.  So peaceful that I have gotten angry about having to do the mundane day-to-day things, like pay bills, clean the house and wash the clothes.  When I am home, I just want to sit on my balcony….daydream, meditate, breathe….just enjoy nature.  From the puffy white clouds to the dark rainy ones.  I just want to sit outside and be grateful.

I guess I have been waiting and wanting for this to happen and I think it’s because I have “let go”.  I don’t know of what or when it even happened, but it did.  And I’m so grateful that my spirit has embraced this feeling.  I’m not going to let it go!
